When I was young, my mother read fairy tales to me, and there is a direct line from those stories to my interest in fantasy art. I'm a trained figure painter and love representational art, but also surrealism and the symbolists.
I use mostly watercolors, but also acrylics. I sometimes incorporate paints with a bit of shimmer to represent the otherworldly qualities of my subjects.
I enjoy walking in forests, along the banks of rivers and by the shores of bays. My artwork is inspired by fairy tales, myths and nature, but also by interesting faces, magic, art, poetry and music.
Some of my art has been licensed for cross stitch patterns. You can check them out here!
